What is meant by 'Power of attorney'?
Power
of attorney is a document by which, a person authorises another person to act
on his behalf and in his name which include powers to sign and take decisions
required on behalf the person giving the power of attorney. Similarly, powers
given to represent on behalf of the principal in any court, tribunal or before
any authority also fall under this category. However, this category does not
include the Vakalatnama given to an advocate to carry on the proceedings.
